Ruslan Mutafov is a graphic designer based in Margate, with over 20 years experience in graphic design specialising in children’s book publishing. He is now developing new work connected to storytelling, working directly with clients, brands, organisations and communities to share their stories, ideas and voices.

Meddah – Contemporary Storytelling is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional “meddah”, a solo storyteller who used voice, simple objects, and small gestures to bring narratives to life. Rooted in minimal means and clear narrative focus, the meddah tradition offered a direct and intimate form of communication, this translates naturally into contemporary visual storytelling, illustrating alternative narratives and wider perspectives through drawings, shapes, and motion.
